A Rich Heritage...

Timmins, Kroll, and Jacobsen, LLP, has been serving clients in the greater Des Moines area since 1945. During that time, the firm has had various partners and names with the last name change from Walter, Timmins, & Co. occurring in 1997. The firm's client base is closely-held businesses in a variety of industries and includes governmental entities, agricultural entities, nonprofit organizations, manufacturing, retail and wholesale operations, and service entities. These clients may be sole proprietors with no employees or may be multi-location businesses with over 250 employees.

Experience that Pays...

The partners of the firm have from fifteen to thirty years of experience. Three of the professional staff have over ten years of experience with our firm. The firm believes that staff retention is enhanced by providing a stimulating environment that allows staff to develop skills and relationships that are satisfying on a personal and professional level. The staff receive a minimum of forty hours of continuing education training annually. The topics are selected to tailor the education to the client assignments of the individual and to maintain awareness of the trends in the industries of our clients. A current library of accounting, tax and general business literature is maintained and weekly staff meetings are held to share information.

 A Firm with Active Community Members...

The firm believes in balancing technical training with additional experiences. All staff are encouraged to join and become involved in the community. The partners and staff are involved in chambers of commerce, civic organizations, professional associations, social organizations and charitable organizations. The firm is pleased to have had past presidents of the Urbandale, Grimes, Altoona and Ankeny Chambers of Commerce, the Iowa Society of CPAs, Rotary Clubs and Jaycees Organizations. Community involvement provides the firm with a connection to the surrounding community and offers the firm an opportunity to be exposed to trends and issues which may affect clients.

The mission of the firm is to provide quality service based on the individual needs of the client. This is accomplished through listening to the goals and needs as defined by the client, implementing a plan of action, and participating in the ongoing functions of the business.

Our goal is to provide clients with the financial services and information they need to make decisions that will positively impact their businesses and personal finances.  The firm is committed to life-long learning and requires all professional staff to engage in continuing education.  The firm submits itself to a peer review every three years and is proud to announce the receipt of the highest standard of peer review reporting.  Clients are encouraged to use the experience of their CPA as a tool in managing their businesses and personal finances.
